The Narrator introduces Eeyore. Eeyore is looking in a stream and disappointed at the reflection. Pooh enters and can’t figure out what Eeyore is talking about. He sings a silly song he made up for when his brain feels fluffy (“Cottleston Pie”). Eeyore says today is his birthday.

The Narrator says Pooh hurries home to tell everyone it’s Eeyore’s birthday.

Pooh enters with a honey pot. Piglet enters and decides to give Eeyore a balloon for a birthday present.

The Narrator describes the scene we are watching as Pooh eats all the honey in the pot (Instrumental version of “Isn’t It Funny”).

Owl enters and writes “Happy Birthday” on the pot for Pooh. They exit so Owl can get a “rare and valuable ribbon” to give to Eeyore as a birthday present.

—Owl turns the page as they exit.—

Piglet enters with a large balloon and keeps chasing it around the stage (“Balloon Chase Music”). Piglet finally catches the balloon but when falling on it bursts it.

Rabbit enters. Pooh suggests Rabbit bring a cake to Eeyore’s birthday party. Rabbit exits.

Eeyore enters. Piglet gives the balloon to Eeyore and describes how big and what color it was before it popped.

Owl and Rabbit enter. They give Eeyore the ribbon and the cake. Pooh enters and gives Eeyore the empty “useful pot.” Eeyore is excited to show the deflated balloon can go in and out of the pot.

Christopher Robin and Tigger enter with Christopher Robin blowing a toy trumpet and carrying a present.

Christopher Robin tells everyone that Eeyore’s birthday is next week. Today is Pooh’s birthday.

Christopher Robin gives Pooh some blue, red, and green pencils for his birthday.

They sing and dance (“Hooray for Pooh”).

The Narrator describes how, after the party, Christopher Robin, Pooh, and Piglet walk home together in the golden evening. Halfway between Pooh’s and Piglet’s houses they stop at a Thoughtful Place where they sometimes meet. (“This Warm and Sunny Spot”).
